PA Consulting Group
After my military service I spent 2 years working as a management consultant with the UK based PA Consulting Group. While working for PA I was involved in a number of large consulting projects, in the maintenance and asset management fields, with organisations such as BHP Australia Coal, Telstra and the Hydro Electric Commission in Tasmania.
Grainco
Headhunted from PA, I joined leading Queensland based agribusiness Grainco Australia Ltd. I was at the company for six years, holding a number of different roles. These included General Manager Operations, running the grain handling system in Queensland and the port facilities; and General Manager Business Development, which involved building the firm’s business, delivering new bulk commodity storage and handling infrastructure. A highlight of my time with Grainco was conceiving and delivering a major grain export terminal in the Port of Melbourne in 2000.
Ultrex
On leaving Grainco I established my own consulting business in the field of bulk commodity logistics. Over a two year period I was involved in business feasibility studies and planning for the delivery of major grain storage and handling infrastructure in NSW, VIC, SA and WA.
